Marilou Schultz is a Navajo (Diné) from Arizona who learned the art of spinning and weaving at an early age. She loves to spin her Churro fleece and dye using natural dyes which she uses in her traditional and contemporary weavings. Marilou participates in the Santa Fe Indian Market and the Heard Indian Market where she has received numerous awards for her work. Her computer/technology inspired weavings have been in local museums and international tapestry exhibitions. During the school year she devotes her time to her teaching job in working with middle school students. She is always willing to share her knowledge and expertise in how to weave Navajo rugs using the basic weave as well as wedge weaves.
